Out on the ocean, Enchantment in motion,
We join here together, wishing new friends fair weather,
If you found this ducky then you must feel lucky!

Well we’re lucky too and sharing with you, the joy that we found with each other around!

Tom and Shewanda met four years ago, playing Trivia together to test what they know,
But knowing is learning and questions kept burning and last year in May, Tom asked her to say

Yes.

Well you can certainly guess…

In August they wed, before family and friends, and as one they said “our love never ends”

So it’s Honeymoon time, and hear on this cruise, we made up this rhyme to spread you the news!

There is a ducky for each of us all, some are well hidden, some not hiding at all. We hope you find fortune and joy in your life, as we now find joy as husband and wife!

What’s a Cruise Duck?

Cruise ducks are rubber ducks that passengers hide on a cruise ship, a trend that started in 2018 with a 10-year-old girl. The activity, similar to geocaching, involves guests hiding ducks with a tag to track them, and finders taking a picture, posting it online, and either re-hiding the duck or keeping it as a souvenir. While it’s a fun way to spread joy, participants should follow rules to avoid obstructing pathways or hiding ducks in restricted areas like crew-only zones or near safety equipment, say Random Recess, Cruise Critic, and Happy Duckers.

  • What it is: A social game where passengers hide small rubber ducks around a cruise ship for others to find.
  • How it started: A 10-year-old named Abby started hiding ducks in 2018 to make people smile. The trend quickly gained popularity through social media groups.
  • How to participate:
    • Purchase rubber ducks and often a “passport” or tag to attach.
    • Hide the ducks in public, accessible areas of the ship, but not in restricted areas like crew-only zones, shops, or near safety equipment.
    • If you find a duck, take a photo, post it on the relevant Facebook group, and decide whether to keep it or hide it again.
  • Why people like it: It’s a fun, simple activity that encourages interaction between guests and spreads a sense of joy and community throughout the ship.
  • Enjoy the journey!
